Cuiaba is not a tourist town; it’s a big city, the capital of a state the size of Texas. Over the 18 years since we began inventing, then developing jaguar tourism, we have tried to find and work with some hotels that could best meet our guests’s needs at the beginning and end of their adventure.
We haven’t entirely reached our goal, but three come pretty close, and we describe our recommended lodging options on the following pages:
This award-winning, four-star hotel is located at the bustling center of Cuiaba and is only a short walk away from some of the city’s most interesting cultural and historic attractions.
Want to enjoy the green spaces of Brazil even during your connection in Cuiabá? The three-star Hotel Fazenda Mato Grosso offers an amazingly-verdant option for nature-lovers that includes walking trails through the hotel’s tree-filled gardens and proximity to green parks.
Hotel Slaviero Slim is modern, fashionable, and, crucially, within walking distance of the airport! This 3-star hotel does not have the amenities of the other options, but it’s a great choice if you’re looking for efficient comfort very near the airport before (or after) your fabulous Pantanal adventure with SouthWild.
